A Lusaka teacher has been dragged to the Lusaka Magistrates Court for issuing a cheque on an insufficiently funded bank account after incurring a debt of K 17,000.
Mukonka Audrisco, 35, of house No. 1080/ 1559 was dragged to court after he was accused of the subject offences.
Mukonka who was arrested without warrant on April 25 is in count one facing a charge of obtaining pecuniary advantage by false pretences contrary to section 309 of the laws of Zambia.
He is alleged to have on unknown dates but between April 1 and July 30, 2014 by false pretences dishonestly to have incurred a debt amounting to K 17,000 from Chongo Albert Kims which he made himself liable to pay.
Mukonka is in count two facing a charge of issuing a cheque on an insufficiently funded account contrary to section 33 (1) of the National Payments System Act No.1 of 2007 of the laws of Zambia.
He is alleged to have on May 10 this year with intent to defraud or deceive knowingly and dishonestly issued an Interbank cheque No. 185 with a face value of K 17,000 to Chongo Albert Kims on account number 01- 14113000028 holden at Interbank which was an insufficiently funded account.
Mukonka is expected to appear in court soon.
