A man narrated in a Lusaka Local Court how he caught his wife red-handed having sex with her uncle nine months after he married her.
Muyambango Malamo of Westwood compound told Senior Court Magistrate Ackim Phiri sitting with Magistrates Sarah Nyendwa and Daniel Phiri at Kanyama Local Court that his wife Kuyewa Samutumwa was promiscuous because nine months after they got married he found her making love with her uncle.
This is in a matter in which Samutumwa sued her husband for divorce because she claimed their marriage had broken down irretrievably.
The two got married in 2001 and have seven children.
Samutumwa said she never had peace since she got married as her husband hid his payslips from her and failed to provide for the family.
She said Malamo had a love affair and even brought a relative of his girlfriend to stay in the matrimonial home.
“Malamo deprives me conjugal rights and one time he wrote to me a divorce letter. This was after telling me that he no longer loves me.
“We have been on separation since March 2016,” said Samutumwa.
In defence, Malamo said that Samutumwa was promiscuous because nine months after they got married he found her making love with her uncle.
He forgave her after she apologised but in 2006 when he was jailed for seven months, she was caught committing adultery with a man called Chris. When I asked her, she readily admitted.
Malamo said he wrote Samutumwa a divorce letter because she did not take care of his mother who was unwell and later died.
Magistrate Phiri granted the couple divorce ordering Malamo to compensate Samutumwa K6, 000 with the initial payment of K1, 000 followed by monthly instalments of K400 and to be paying children maintenance fee of K300 per month.
The property acquired during the subsistence of the marriage would be shared equally between them.
